Donna Bales is business and product development professional with extensive experience leading early concept initiatives through to delivery. She is well-recognized for leading new initiatives during times of significant market change such as the introduction of electronic trading and structure reforms such as MiFID.
Donna was the product lead of Markit BOAT, the OTC equity trade repository built in response to the regulatory changes introduced by MiFID and one of the first RegTech market solutions. With 20 years’ international capital markets experience she has in-depth knowledge of financial products, industry verticals, market structure and regulatory issues. She has facilitated several bank consortia initiatives throughout her career, most recently she has assisted the Toronto Financial Service Alliance working group with Canada’s proposal to become a Renminbi Hub.
Donna has an economics degree from the University of Western Ontario and has an Executive Certificate in Directorship from Singapore Management University and is an advisor to The Think Alliance in Hong Kong.
